Women in Policing: Meeting the Challenges of Leadership, taught by Dr. Karin Montejo, recently retired Chief of the Miami-Dade Police Department, is a course that prepares women in today's law enforcment field for the practical and challenging aspects of assuming a command role within their department and in the field of  law enforcement.

Boston's Run to Remember is a tribute to fallen law enforcment officers and honors Massachusetts law enforcment officers killed in the line of duty. This is two day event that includes a half marathon, a 5-mile road race as well as festivites for adults and children.

Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement - Next Business Meeting April 27, 2010

The next MAWLE business meeting will be on April 27, 2010 at the Smoke House in Brookline, hosted by the Brookline Police Dept.  The Smoke House is within a 5 minute walk of the Brookline Police Station.  Come join MAWLE for this social occasion and business meeting.  

The previous meeting of MAWLE on March 10, 2010 hosted by Harvard University Police Department was a productive meeting with many new ideas for upcoming training and social events as well as getting some new committees up and running such as the Membership Committee and the Social Committee.  If interested in serving on one of these new committees or on another committee contact Stephanie Lane.  Her contact information can be found on MAWLE's website - http://www.mawle.org/.

9th Annual "Keeping the Dream Alive" - March 25, 2010

New Hampshire Cultural Diversity Awareness Council will be hosting a dinner celebration titled "Protecting the Dream Through Recruitment and Advancement", a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dinner celebration. It is being held on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the Radisson Hotel, 700 Elm Street, Manchester, NH.

  • Keynote speaker will be Mark J. Sullivan, Director, United States Secret Service.
  • Special Guest Speaker will be Douglas DeLeaver, Retired Chief, Maryland Transit Admin. and past National President, National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives.
  • Master of Ceremonies will be David Debois, President, NH Police Chiefs Association and Eddie Edwards, Director of Enforcement, NH Liquor Commission.
